Portal Management
Combining Portal and Content Management Expertise
RedDot provides simple integration of our Web Content Management solution with all leading portals, based on the "JSR 168" portlet standard. An extended portlet that supports custom portal functions is also available for the SAP, IBM, and Microsoft portals.
Comprehensive Search in the Portal
With the integrated Autonomy (Verity) Search Engine, you have a powerful search function at your disposal, which eliminates time-consuming searches.
Personalisation in the Portal User's Context
A major benefit of a portal is the ability to log portal users on to integrated applications directly through single sign-on. When users log on to the portal, they are simultaneously authenticated in RedDot, thus automatically ensuring the delivery of personalised, authorisation-protected content. The necessary profile data is taken from a shared user repository (such as an LDAP server).
Editing Portal Content Directly
Portal content is usually provided by different departments. Many employees and business partners have to be involved in the content management process for the portal to fulfill its potential as a business tool. RedDot enables all users to edit the content of their respective areas, depending on their authorisations. One click is all it takes. With single sign-on, users are logged on directly in RedDot and their editing rights are verified.
